Privacy Policy

Decisive Edge is the business name for our advisory, books, and tools (“we,” “us”). This policy explains how we handle information when you use our website at www.beadecisiveleader.com and related services. Last updated: May 24, 2026.

Introduction

This policy is meant to read like a concise executive brief: what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to reach us. It is not legal advice; consult counsel for your specific situation.

What this policy covers

It applies to this website and the interactive tools we host here today, including the Executive Strategic Roadmap Diagnostic, The Edge Advisor (mentor chat), and the EDGE Decision Matrix (also referred to as Edge Navigator), and the PM Estimation workspace. This policy also covers scheduling links, The Bridge newsletter signup, and contact flows we link from these pages.

We may ship additional tools or features over time. Unless we publish a separate notice for a specific offering, this policy governs those additions the same way: data use will match the categories below (forms, optional AI-assisted features, analytics, and third-party processors we name or link).

Progressive Web App (PWA) & app store distribution

You may add this site to your home screen or deploy it as a dashboard shortcut (for example via Chrome’s app prompt or Safari’s “Add to Home Screen”). That uses the same HTTPS site and the same cookies, authentication, and processing described here—we do not collect a separate category of data solely because you saved a shortcut.

Interactive EDGE Tools (routes under /ai-tools) send what you type to our servers (and sometimes to partners such as a model or forms provider) so the tool can run. You can use the workspaces without a blocking sign-off modal; optional links on those pages point here. We may store an optional "don't show again" flag in your browser's local storage on this device only—it is not required to use the tools.

If we distribute a Google Play or Apple App Store client that loads our web application in a native shell (for example WebView or Trusted Web Activity), it will operate against the same origins and APIs unless we publish a separate notice. Mobile platform providers may process limited device or diagnostics data under their own terms; review Google’s and Apple’s privacy materials for how the OS and store account work.

Subprocessors & infrastructure

We rely on vendors to host and operate the service. They process data only as needed to provide their function. We do not sell your personal information. Representative categories:

AreaTypical vendor / role
Hosting & edgeVercel (application hosting, optional Analytics / Speed Insights)
Application dataPostgreSQL (e.g. Neon) for accounts, Hub content, and operational data
Sign-inAuth0 (OAuth / session for the Insights Hub)
AIGoogle (Gemini API for interactive tools)
File storageVercel Blob (member media uploads where enabled)
Real-time collaborationLiveblocks (War Room canvas sync)
Forms & schedulingFormspree, Buttondown (when configured for the mailing list), Calendly (data you submit to those flows)
Analytics & marketing scriptsGoogle Analytics (when enabled), LinkedIn Insight Tag (site), subject to their policies and your browser controls

Use this list alongside your answers in app store Data safety or App Privacy questionnaires: declare categories that match what you actually collect (account info, user content, diagnostics, etc.).

Data collection

Executive Strategic Roadmap Diagnostic. When you submit the briefing-access form after your results, we collect your name, work email, optional organization, and your scores/answers via Formspree. Formspree processes submissions on our behalf under their terms.

Strategy sessions & advisory interest. Booking or expressing interest in strategy sessions may route through Calendly or similar scheduling tools. Those services collect the data you provide to schedule or join a session, subject to their respective privacy policies.

The Bridge. If you join the newsletter list, your email (and any fields you submit) may be processed through Buttondown, Formspree, or another provider we configure, depending on how the site is set up.

EDGE Decision Matrix (Edge Navigator). When you finish a matrix run, we receive your mission text, options, factors, scores, winner, and confidence match on our servers so we can log completion (see Server-side analytics). We may also send a lead-style summary through Formspree when configured—similar to a CRM or spreadsheet row—so we can follow up. If you provide an email, it may appear in that notification.

General contact. If you email us or use a contact link, your message and address are processed according to how you sent them (your mail provider and ours).

Server-side analytics

When our hosting is configured with a database, we may record append-only analytics events for operations and product improvement—for example which tool fired an event, timestamps, counts (message lengths, matrix dimensions), and model identifiers. Where we configure privacy hashing, sensitive strings may be stored as one-way digests rather than plain text, so the database alone cannot recover your exact words without additional secrets held only on the server.

Today this includes events tied to The Edge Advisor chat turns, EDGE Decision Matrix completion, and the matrix “stress test” prompt that is sent through the same AI API as The Edge Advisor. If we add tools, we will extend this logging in line with the same principles unless we tell you otherwise.

AI processing (Google Gemini)

The Edge Advisor and the optional stress-test step from the EDGE Decision Matrix send text to Google’s Gemini API to generate responses. Decisive Edge does not use your conversations to train our own models.

Whether Google may use API traffic to improve Google’s models (and any controls available to you) depends on Google’s current terms, your Google AI / Cloud project settings, and product tier. We cannot warrant a specific Google retention or training posture on your behalf—please review Google’s documentation and console settings for the API key you associate with the Decisive Edge site.

For typical Gemini API usage through Google AI Studio or Vertex AI with standard settings, Google documents that API prompts and outputs are not used to train generalized models—confirm the latest language in Google’s terms for your account and region.

PM Estimation workspace

Ticket text and scope refinement. When you use check scope, offline LLM estimation, or related steps, your description is sent to Google’s Gemini API under the same principles as other interactive tools on this site. Do not paste secrets, regulated personal data, or information your employer prohibits from sending to third-party AI unless you have authority to do so.

Live Jira connection. If you enter your Atlassian site URL, account email, and API token, those values are sent to this website’s servers and used only to request issue data from Atlassian’s APIs for that operation. We do not store your Jira password or API token in our application database for this feature. Atlassian processes API calls under their terms; you are responsible for using credentials and data in compliance with your organization’s policies.

Mock mode and templates. Mock mode uses sample data bundled with the site only; your Jira is not contacted. If you upload or paste a ticket template, it may be saved in your browser’s local storage on your device for convenience; it is not uploaded to our servers as a separate file.

Analytics. This tool is not currently wired to append rows to our optional server-side analytics database; if that changes, we will update this policy.

Conversations & records

Chat content may be retained for quality and consulting continuity. Depending on configuration, that may include the server-side analytics in our Postgres database (for example Neon), typically with keyed digest fields rather than raw message text. The The Edge Advisor widget may keep a short-lived intro or session state in your browser (for example session storage) so the experience feels continuous; it does not replace our server policies for anything we log on our systems.

We do not treat AI chat as a substitute for professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

Cookies & tracking

Google Analytics. When enabled, the Decisive Edge website may use Google Analytics cookies or similar technologies to understand aggregate traffic and usage. You can use browser controls or Google’s opt-out tools where available.

Affiliate links. Links to The EDGE Framework, Relationship Architecture, and other books may point to Amazon or other retailers. If those links include affiliate identifiers, a purchase may generate a commission at no extra cost to you, under the retailer’s program terms.

Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to operate the site, deliver advisory and diagnostic follow-up, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes—unless a longer period is required by law.

Terms of use

By using this site and its tools, you agree to use them only for lawful purposes and in line with this policy. Tools that incorporate AI (including The Edge Advisor and the PM Estimation workspace) produce informational output for education and reflection; they are not a substitute for licensed professional advice. We may update these terms or the site; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Your rights & contact

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data—including a right to erase (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable law provides it. To request deletion or ask a privacy question, contact us at privacy@beadecisiveleader.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity (for example by emailing from an address associated with your account). This process supports app store account & data deletion disclosures where they apply.

Audience. Our tools and Hub are intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction) for child-directed services.
