Terms of Service

Decisive Leader is the business name for our books, leadership tools, and related products. Effective October 11, 2026.

Publication status

These Terms of Service took effect on October 11, 2026. They expand the Terms of Use in the Privacy Policy. This page does not replace Apple’s Standard EULA for iOS applications.

Who we are

Decisive Leader is operated as a sole proprietorship using the Decisive Leader name (a “doing business as” name). It is not described here as a limited liability company or a corporation. “We,” “us,” and “our” mean that business. The public website is www.beadecisiveleader.com. The business is based in Massachusetts.

Privacy requests: privacy@beadecisiveleader.com. Product support: help@beadecisiveleader.com. Business inquiries: sales@beadecisiveleader.com. A product may also name its own support address in its privacy notice. Use that address when the notice asks you to.

What these terms cover

When published, these terms are intended to cover the Decisive Leader services you actually use, including:

  • This website, including EDGE Tools, the concierge, assessments, insights, and downloads
  • Arty, Adaptive, and the Decisive Leader mobile app
  • Next Move
  • The Floor
  • Decision Debt
  • The Decision Room
  • Decisive Play
  • Books, the podcast, and other digital content we publish
  • Alignment Check only if and when it is offered to the public

Products do not all work the same way. Some keep information on your device. Some use accounts, AI providers, or payments. The Privacy Policy and any product-specific privacy notice describe those differences. Those notices are part of the picture. They are not all identical.

Product notices currently published separately include Adaptive, The Floor, Next Move, and Decisive Play. Decision Debt, The Decision Room, and the website tools are described on the Privacy Policy. If a product notice and these terms both apply, read them together. The notice controls for how that product handles information. These terms control the permission to use the service, except where Apple’s Standard EULA controls an iOS application, as described below.

Alignment Check is listed on this site as coming soon. It is not a public production service under these terms until it is launched and the Privacy Policy says so. Insights Hub and Academy are parked and are not current public services.

Eligibility and accounts

You may use a service only if you can form a contract for it, or a parent or guardian is using it with you where that product allows a younger audience. Paid accounts and purchases are for adults. At the time of this update (October 11, 2026), the US App Store listing displays 13+, while the US Google Play listing displays Everyone. Choosing an in-app age band is a content fit, not identity or age verification. We do not knowingly offer Decisive Leader accounts to children under 13.

Many features work without an account. Where you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your sign-in method under your control, and tell us if you believe someone else is using it. You are responsible for activity under your account until you notify us and we have a reasonable chance to act. Signing out ends a session on that device. It does not, by itself, delete the account or cancel a store subscription.

Acceptable use

Use the services only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Break the law, or infringe someone else’s rights, while using a service
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization
  • Interfere with the service, including by overloading it or bypassing usage limits
  • Send malware, or probe the service except in a test we have agreed to in writing
  • Submit information to an AI feature when you do not have authority to send that information to the provider named in the Privacy Policy
  • Present AI output as licensed professional advice, or hide that it came from a tool
  • Resell, sublicense, or operate the service as your own product

We may refuse a request that looks like abuse, a security risk, or an attempt to use the tool for a purpose it does not offer.

Software and intellectual property

Decisive Leader and its licensors own the software, application code, branding, logos, books, original writing, proprietary methodologies, product designs, and original frameworks. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the services for your own leadership work or internal business use. That license ends if these terms end for you, or if a store’s license for an app ends. It does not let you redistribute our software or paid content, or present our branding as yours.

Books and audiobooks offered through Amazon, Google Play Books, or another retailer are sold or licensed by that retailer. Checkout happens there, not on this website. Retailer terms apply to that copy. Links may include affiliate or referral parameters, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You may not copy or redistribute the software or paid content, or reverse engineer the software, except where a statute allows it. You may use AI-generated output for your own work, subject to applicable law and other people’s rights. We do not promise that you own that output exclusively, or that it is original. If you send a suggestion, we may use the idea to operate the services without payment. That does not give us ownership of the private content in your account.

Your content

You keep ownership of the text, plans, decisions, files, and other content you submit. You give Decisive Leader a limited license to host, store, transmit, and process that content, including through the providers named in the Privacy Policy, only to provide, secure, and support the features you use. This license does not give us ownership of your content, and it is not permission to use your content to train our own generalized models.

You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights needed to submit it. Product notices describe what stays on the device, what is saved to an account, and how to delete it. Deleting local data does not always delete an account copy, a vote aggregate, a payment record, or a copy already sent to an AI provider.

AI-generated information

Some services use AI to support human decision-making. They do not replace your judgment. Arty in Adaptive, the Decisive Leader app, and The Floor can send content you allow to OpenAI. Website tools and the concierge can send text to Google’s Gemini API for a defined task. Next Move’s optional AI assist, when you have access and have given consent, sends the text needed for that request to OpenAI. Decision Debt does not include an in-app AI assistant. The Decision Room’s in-game Arty is scripted. Decisive Play’s ordinary gameplay does not call an AI service.

AI-generated information may be incomplete, out of date, inappropriate for your situation, or wrong. It can omit facts you did not provide. Similar prompts can produce similar answers for different people. We do not promise that output is accurate, complete, unique, or free of third-party claims. You should evaluate a recommendation yourself before you rely on it for a consequential decision. The Privacy Policy names the AI provider for each product that uses one. We do not claim that every AI request is private, anonymous, unrecorded, or excluded from a provider’s logs or training. Where a product’s code turns an OpenAI storage flag off, the Privacy Policy says so for that product only.

Your decisions

You remain responsible for evaluating recommendations and for the decisions you make. That includes decisions about work, money, people, health, and safety. A score, a suggested next move, a draft, or a conversation is input for you. It is not an instruction you must follow, and it is not a decision made for you.

No guarantee of outcomes

We do not guarantee a particular leadership, career, financial, operational, or personal result. Examples, scores, and stories are illustrations. Past results described in books, talks, or essays are not a promise of your result.

Not professional advice

The services provide general information, education, and decision-support tools. They do not establish a licensed professional relationship. They are not legal advice, medical advice, mental-health care, financial advice, tax advice, insurance advice, or a substitute for a licensed professional who knows your situation. Speaking and partnership conversations are business inquiries, not a retained advisory engagement, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

Nothing in this section is a claim that Decisive Leader has no responsibility for the services. It describes what the services are.

Subscriptions and recurring billing

Some products offer a paid session, a one-time purchase, or a plan that renews. Many do not. Decision Debt’s local log, The Decision Room, ordinary Decisive Play, and most of this website do not require a paid subscription. Alignment Check is not a public paid product.

When a product offers a paid plan, the checkout screen in that product or store shows the price, the billing period, whether the plan renews, and who charges you. That screen, not this page alone, is the purchase disclosure. The Floor can bill web purchases through Stripe and mobile purchases through Apple or Google when those options are offered. Next Move’s live purchase configuration offers Plus in the Next Move app and tells you that subscriptions renew through the App Store or Google Play until you cancel in the store’s account settings. This website does not charge Next Move purchases. The Decisive Leader mobile app and Adaptive may offer in-app purchases or, where that product’s checkout is enabled, web billing. The price you see at checkout is the price for that purchase.

Taxes may be added by the platform that bills you. A free trial, where a product offers one, is described in that product. The Floor’s mobile app describes one free Arty session with a limited number of follow-up replies. A trial can require a payment method if the store says so before you start it.

Automatic renewal and cancellation

If a plan renews automatically, the store or checkout says so before you pay. Renewal charges the same payment method unless you cancel or the platform tells you otherwise.

  • Apple subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancel there to stop future renewal. Access you already paid for generally continues until the end of the current period. Apple’s terms control the timing.
  • Google Play subscriptions are managed in Google Play’s subscription settings, or the cancellation path Google provides. Google’s terms control the timing.
  • The Floor’s web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. A signed-in subscriber can cancel so the subscription ends at the close of the current period. Deleting the Floor account cancels the Stripe subscription at that time. Apple or Google Play subscriptions for The Floor are canceled in the store, not by that web deletion. If a billing control is unavailable, email help@beadecisiveleader.com.

Deleting an app, signing out, or deleting an account does not by itself cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription. Next Move’s purchase screen says to cancel in the store account settings. Cancel the store subscription even if you also delete the account. This website does not offer a Stripe subscription of its own. Parked Academy checkout is not a current purchase path.

Apple and Google billing

Apple. If you download an iOS application from the App Store, you also agree to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These Terms of Service supplement that EULA for Decisive Leader websites, accounts, AI features, and related services. They do not replace it. If these terms conflict with the Standard EULA about the licensed iOS application, the Standard EULA controls that conflict. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Decisive Leader content or support. Purchases made through the App Store are billed by Apple to your Apple ID under Apple’s payment terms.

Google Play. Android applications obtained from Google Play are made available under Google Play’s terms. These Terms of Service cover your use of Decisive Leader services in those applications. They do not replace Google Play’s license, and they do not set Google’s prices, renewal mechanics, or refund decisions. Purchases made through Google Play are billed by Google. You cancel them in Google Play. We do not describe those purchases as billed by Decisive Leader.

Web purchases that the checkout identifies as billed by Decisive Leader are processed by a payment processor such as Stripe. Those are separate from App Store and Google Play purchases.

Refunds and consumer rights

App Store refunds are requested from Apple under Apple’s refund rules. Google Play refunds are requested from Google under Google Play’s refund rules. We cannot promise that Apple or Google will grant a refund.

For an amount Decisive Leader bills directly, email help@beadecisiveleader.com or the address in that product’s notice. Say which product and purchase you mean. We will consider the request and honor any refund the law requires. We do not publish a single money-back window for every product, because the stores and the products do not share one.

Nothing in these terms waives a consumer protection, cancellation right, or cooling-off right that the law says cannot be waived. That includes rights that apply because of where you live.

Third-party services

The services rely on other companies to host, sign you in, send email, process payments, or generate AI responses. The Privacy Policy names the main categories, including Vercel, database hosting such as Neon or Supabase where a product uses them, Google, Apple, OpenAI, Stripe where web checkout uses it, Formspree, Buttondown, and Resend. Bookstores, calendars, and optional connections such as Gmail or Google Calendar apply their own terms when you choose them.

We do not control those companies. Their outages, policy changes, and data practices can affect a feature. A link to another site is not an endorsement of everything on that site.

Availability

Services are provided as available. They may be interrupted for maintenance, capacity, a provider outage, a security issue, or a change in a feature. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that a feature will remain in a product. There is no uptime commitment unless a separate written agreement with you says so. Local-only information can be lost if you clear the device or delete the app, and we cannot restore it when we never received it.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using a service at any time. Where the product offers account deletion, you may request it there or through the deletion pages linked from the Privacy Policy, including /account-deletion and Decisive Play deletion.

We may suspend or end access if you materially break these terms, if we need to address a security or legal risk, or if a bill we are entitled to charge is unpaid after notice. When it is practical and lawful, we will tell you the reason and how to reach us. Ending access does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription by itself, and it does not erase records we must keep for security, fraud prevention, or law. Sections that should survive by their nature, including intellectual property, content you already submitted, disclaimers, liability limits that the law allows, and dispute terms, continue to apply.

Warranties

Except for promises that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you, the services are provided “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. This disclaimer does not exclude a warranty, remedy, or consumer protection that a statute says cannot be excluded, including protections under Massachusetts General Laws chapter 93A where that statute applies, and similar protections where you live.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Decisive Leader is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from your use of the services, or for a decision you make after using them.

For claims this limit is allowed to cover, Decisive Leader’s total liability to you is the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the fees you paid Decisive Leader during the 12 months before the claim. This cap does not mean Decisive Leader has no liability, and it does not apply to liability the law does not allow us to limit. That includes fraud or willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where a limit is not allowed, and a non-waivable consumer right, including protections under Massachusetts General Laws chapter 93A where that statute applies.

Disputes and governing law

If something goes wrong, email help@beadecisiveleader.com and tell us what happened. We will try to resolve it with you. You do not have to finish that conversation before you use a remedy the law gives you. Contacting us is not a prerequisite to filing a claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, except where the law of your place of residence gives you a protection that cannot be waived and that law has to apply instead. You or we may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts. You may also bring a claim in any other court that applicable law keeps open to you, including a court where you live when consumer law requires that choice, and small-claims court.

These terms do not require arbitration. They do not waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action. They do not require you to indemnify Decisive Leader. If a court finds that one sentence conflicts with a law that cannot be waived, that sentence is limited to the minimum extent required, and the rest stays in effect.

Changes

A minor change, such as a contact address or a clearer description of a practice that did not change, takes effect when we post it and update the revision date. We do not ask you to accept a minor change again.

A material change is one that reduces a right you already have, changes the price or renewal terms of a subscription you already have, or changes how we use personal information in a way the law treats as material. We will post that version with a new effective date, not earlier than the day we publish it, and we will tell you in the product or by email when we have an address, before it applies to you. Where the law requires your agreement, the change applies only after you affirmatively agree. We will not apply a new price, or a reduced right, to a period you already paid for unless you authorize that change or the law allows it. Keeping an app installed is not, by itself, that agreement.

Version history. The terms in effect for this website, until this page is published, are the Terms of Use in the Privacy Policy. That short statement was last published with the Privacy Policy dated October 1, 2026. This page was prepared on October 11, 2026, and revised the same day for the approved liability, dispute, billing, deletion, AI, privacy, change, and intellectual-property decisions. It took effect on October 11, 2026.
